A new year is upon us and for the Cleveland Browns its starting in an all too familiar way – making a coaching change after yet another year of losing.  After what didn’t exactly amount to an exhaustive search, the Browns have their guy.  Apparently, Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is the man for the job, at least according to Mike Holmgren. Holmgren must have a whole lot of faith in Shurmur, because his thin resume doesn’t necessarily recommend him for the gig.

Plus, the Ohio State Buckeye football program had an interesting holiday season.  They get a huge Sugar Bowl win, but do it in the midst of some unexpected and uninvited scrutiny.  Buckeye commentator Steve Kaczynski returns to the podcast to discuss the State of Buckeye Nation.

While this may not be the finest moment in the history of the Buckeye program, and many local and national pundits have taken this opportunity to pile on the “Buckeye 5,” Jim Tressel and Ohio State, I’ll explain why Buckeye Nation should still hold their heads high.

And as if we didn’t need another reminder of why Cleveland is cursed, the Cavaliers gave us their latest debacle at the hands of the Lakers.
